Walmart donates $2,500 to DeKalb police precinct

Walmart has given an early Christmas present to the DeKalb County Police Department’s Tucker precinct: $2,500.

The donation comes from the Walmart location at 4375 Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker. The money brings the total amount the store has given to the precinct to $5,000, according to the department.

“Walmart strongly believes in giving back to the communities where our customers and associates live and work,” said Craig Soroko, manager of the store that gave the donation, in a police release.

Chief James Conroy thanked Walmart for the donation in a statement. The money will be used at the department’s discretion, a spokeswoman said.
