'Walking Dead' actor charged with DUI

An actor on the popular Georgia-filmed TV series 'The Walking Dead' faces driving under the influence charges in Peachtree City.

Scott Wilson, 70, who plays the role of alcoholic farmer Hershel Greene on the zombie series, was pulled over by Peachtree City police at 2 a.m. on Aug. 18, according to an incident report.

The arresting officer said an anonymous tipster reported a possible impaired driver on Ga. 74 (Joel Cowan Parkway) near BSC Fields, the city baseball and soccer athletic complex.

The officer said he observed Wilson driving a black PT Cruiser northbound on Ga. 74 at about 70 miles per hour, which he wrote is "well above the posted speed limit."

Wilson's vehicle "swerved back and forth" several times in the vicinity of Dividend Drive, the officer wrote.

After being pulled over, Wilson said the vehicle was his sister's and he'd consumed scotch and wine while dining at Founders Restaurant & Bar in Senoia.

The officer reported Wilson initially said his last name was Miller, but later said Miller was his mother's maiden name.

After failing field sobriety tests, Wilson complained the roadway was too "slanted" and asked the officer if he could instead perform some "yoga moves."

A breathalyzer test at the scene returned a result of 0.143, above the legal limit of 0.08.

Tests while being booked at the Fayette jail returned results of 0.151 and 0.155, the officer wrote.

Wilson, born in Atlanta, has appeared in more than 50 films since his career began in the 1960s, including "In The Heat of the Night" (1967), "In Cold Blood" (1967), and "The Great Gatsby" (1974).
