It appears the Johns Creek area has a new representative in the Georgia General Assembly.
Unofficial results from Tuesday’s runoff show Brad Raffensperger beat fellow Republican Kelly Stewart in the Georgia House District 50 race. Raffensperger polled just over 1,500 votes to Stewart’s roughly 1,350 for a 53-to-47 percent victory margin.
Both Raffensperger and Stewart are former Johns Creek City Council members who had resigned to run for the seat, which opened when former State Rep. Lynne Riley quit the post Nov. 7 to become Georgia revenue commissioner.
