The Vinings Village Civic Club will celebrate its 100th birthday with a fountain dedication from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Pace House, 3057 Paces Mill Road SE, Atlanta.
Parking will be available at Piedmont Physicians of Vinings, 3020 Paces Mill Road SE.
This fountain, which had been on an island at the corner of Paces Ferry Road and Paces Mill Road, had to be removed when the road was widened by Cobb County, said Monica Neil on behalf of the club.
Construction for the fountain, in its new home, is underway at the Pace House on property owned by the Vinings Historic Preservation Society.
The fountain has been maintained by the club for 40 years, and the club will continue to maintain and improve the fountain’s setting.
Generous donors also have provided benches.
“We are hoping to mark this occasion by offering the fountain as a gift to the community,” Neil added.
Vinings pioneers, members of Vinings organizations and Cobb County officials will be among special guests at the ceremony, which is open to the public along with the Christmas tree lighting from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Tower Stage at Vinings Jubilee, 4800 Paces Ferry Road, that follows the fountain dedication.
