An update-and community-input session on the mixed-use development on East College Avenue, currently a parking lot for Avondale’s transit station, is 6:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Decatur Public Works Community Room, 2635 Talley Street, Decatur.
The session will include more details on the development than have previously been available, along with news about pedestrian- and bicycle-trail expansion and other public amenities. Initial plans, released last year on the joint partnership between the city, MARTA and Columbia Ventures, call for 600 apartments, 70 condos and 25,000 square-feet of retail, with the first phase including rental units targeting seniors.
