Unusually heavy traffic during rush hour

Metro Atlanta drivers are experiencing unusually heavy traffic during the Friday afternoon rush hour before the July 4 holiday weekend.

4:48 p.m.: Cobb Co.: Injury crash on Floyd Rd. at E-W Connector. Expect delays on area streets.

4:46 p.m.: Atlanta: Crashes on Connector/southbound (75-85) at 14th St. and Connector/northbound at University Ave. State Patrol on both sites.

4:30 p.m.: Clayton County: Crash on I-75/southbound at Old Dixie Highway. Left lane blocked; delays before I-285 ramps.

4:25 p.m.: Sandy Springs: Crash on I-285/eastbound (Inner Loop) by Roswell Rd. Two left lanes affected.

4:15 p.m.: Crashes on I-75/sb at Howell Mill Rd. and I-20 eastbound before Boulevard. Georgia State Patrol on both scenes.

Major interstate incidents (Updated 3:30 p.m.):

Fayette Co. Injury crash on SR-314/sb near White Oak Way blocks multiple lanes. 2 cars involved; Police on scene

DeKalb Co.: Stall on I-285/sb before Covington Hwy. left lane blocked.

Henry Co.: Stall on I-75/nb at Jodeco Rd. center lane blocked.

Delays in both directions through downtown Atlanta and on I-75/sb between Hwy. 138 and Jodeco Rd.

I-75 in Cobb Co. slows in spots in both directions between I-285 and Chastain Rd. I-75 in Henry Co. slows in both directions getting to Jodeco Rd.

Most other interstates are very slow in the usual rush hour places.

Cobb Co.: Injury crash at Mableton Pkwy. at Discovery Blvd.

Stall on Holcomb Bridge Rd./eb at Dogwood Rd. left lane blocked.
