The town of Tyrone’s request to annex 59 acres in northern Fayette County can proceed with the county’s blessing.

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners agreed on March 22 not to object to the request, which will also result in the rezoning of the two tracts on Farr Road and Dogwood Trail from agricultural-residential (A-R) to single-family residential (R-20). The concept plan for the property calls for 39 new homes on lots of at least one acre.

As a condition of the annexation, Fayette County stipulated that the development may not create any new driveways on Dogwood Trail, with access only from Farr Road.
