City Schools Decatur is holding two public engagement sessions on the proposed General Obligation Bond, 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Central Office/Beacon Municipal Center, 125 Electric Avenue.

Over the next five years CSD is looking at anywhere from $94 million to $137 million worth of new construction/renovation based on actual enrollment growth and whether or not the city annexes more property.

In May the school board will ask city commissioners to put a GO Bond—for possibly as much as $82 million—on the November ballot. Tuesday’s sessions will go into detail on CSD’s master plans, the Bond and how much it’s likely to cost taxpayers.
