Tuesday will be sunny and a little warmer, but there’s a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

After a chilly start with readings in the upper 40s, temperatures will warm up to around 72 degrees Tuesday afternoon, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Minton said rain should move into metro Atlanta by early Wednesday afternoon.

“We can’t rule out a little thunder in the afternoon, but for the most part, we’re looking at showers in the area,” Minton said.

The chance of rain Wednesday is 50 percent, according to Minton.

Highs Wednesday will be in the mid-70s after morning lows in the mid-50s.

Sunny skies will return for Thursday and Friday, with highs in the low 70s and lows around 50 degrees.

Tuesday’s pollen count was 659, down slightly from Monday’s count of 667 particles of pollen per cubic meter of air.
