The block-long “Tudor Village” building in downtown Avondale Estates is now 87 percent full with retail and offices, according to Fisher Paty, a partner with Oakhurst Realty.

The 27,000-square foot building was barely half full when Oakhurst purchased it —reportedly for $1 million— in June 2012. The centerpiece is the long-vacant 500-seat theater (the city movie house from 1938 until the early 1970s), currently being renovated by DeMedici Entertainment. Paty said the theater, which will present mostly national acoustic acts, may open as soon as this spring.
