The flexible shoulder lanes of Ga. 400 in the top-end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties will be closed during the daytime hours in the coming days as crews continue to clear trees and prepare the landscape for the reconstruction of the Ga. 400/I-285 interchange.
Weather permitting, the flex lanes will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Dec. 22 on Ga. 400 northbound from the North Springs MARTA station to Pitts Road; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the same days from Ga. 400 southbound from Pitts to the MARTA station, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The work is part of the Transform 285/400 project to improve 4.3 miles of I-285 from west of Roswell Road to east of Ashford Dunwoody Road, and 6.2 miles of Ga. 400 from the Glenridge Connector to Spalding Drive. The area will get new flyover lanes, new collector-distributor lanes and other facilities.
