Traton Homes will build a 59-unit townhome community at Allgood Road and Lawanna Drive in Marietta. The Marietta City Council voted 6-0-1 March 14 in favor of the rezoning, annexation of almost 1.2 acres from Cobb and a code amendment to designate the property’s Future Land Use as Medium Density Residential.

Councilman Johnny Walker abstained on all three votes.

Speaking for Traton Homes, attorney Kevin Moore said the units will sell in the mid-$300,000 range. They will be built on 9.5 acres, including more than an acre for a central park area that will include a stream, a gazebo and an outdoor fireplace - similar to the one at Traton’s Montgomery Park, also in Marietta.

Based in Marietta, Traton Homes will install a deceleration lane, landscaping and sidewalks along Lawanna Drive, Moore added.
