Georgia Department of Transportation will be making two traffic shifts for continued work on the widening of Mars Hill Road in Oconee County, south of U.S. Highway 78.

Traffic will move traffic from Woodland Road to Dooley Avenue June 3. Vehicles will move to the west side of Mars Hill Road. This will allow the contractor to construct the east side of Mars Hill Road and side roads to Dooley Avenue.

The second shift will be June 6 from Dooley Avenue to Barber Creek Road. Lanes will be reduced to one lane in two areas during the day to perform the traffic shift. Traffic will be placed on the west side of Mars Hill Road allowing construction from Dooley to Barber Creek Road.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down, and drive alert.
