Bridge work will require major overnight traffic shifts on I-285 this week as the reconstruction continues of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange in the top end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties.

The actions are scheduled for 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.

Police will conduct “traffic pacing,” slowing traffic on eastbound I-285 to about 15 mph from Roswell Road to Ga. 400. Police also will be posted on the eastbound entrance ramps from Roswell Road and Ga. 400 to temporarily restrict traffic from entering I-285 until the pacing operation ends.

The ramp from southbound Ga. 400 to eastbound I-285 will be closed entirely during this period.

Also, four left lanes of eastbound I-285 will be closed from Glenridge Drive to Ga. 400; while two left lanes of westbound I-285 will be closed from Peachtree Dunwoody Road to Ga. 400.
