Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved two contracts to add 17 closed-circuit cameras, 24 traffic signal connections and 11 miles of fiber optic cable to the county’s Automated Transportation Management System.
The first contract for $494,746 will add seven cameras to nine traffic signals and 2.75 miles of fiber optic cable along Pleasant Hill Road between Buford Highway and the Chattahoochee River.
Georgia DOT, federal funds and the 2009 SPLOST will fund the project.
The second contract for $989,332 will add 10 cameras and connections to 15 traffic signals and fiber optic cable along U.S. 78 between Snellville and Loganville. This contract will be paid using 2009 SPLOST funds.
