Beginning today, drivers along Holcomb Bridge Road will see escalated traffic delays as workers start repairs on water main valve boxes.

Each of the water valve boxes, which are spread around the road, have been covered with asphalt. A contractor for Fulton County Division of Water Resources plans to dig up the boxes and adjust them to grade.

The damaged pavement and sidewalks will then be replaced.

The project is predicted to be completed by May 14, depending on the weather. The construction work will impact the area between Dogwood and Nesbit Ferry roads, both eastbound and westbound.

To divert traffic around and away from each water valve box adjustment location, single lane closures will be required.

The roadwork will take place each night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., officials said in an updated release Wednesday.
