Good news and bad news, Johns Creek residents.
The good news is your streets are getting a makeover. The bad news is your commute might be slowed down a bit while that happens.
Workers in Johns Creek launched the third year of repaving the city’s neighborhood streets last week. The repaving effort is currently underway in the Cameron Forest neighborhood and a total of 17 neighborhoods are set to have their streets paved this year.
Since 2015, the city has repaved 60 subdivisions. Johns Creek increased funding for the project from $1.5 million to $5 million in Fiscal Year 2016 in an effort to accelerate the repaving program timeline by a year, completing the originally scheduled five-year plan in four years.

In May, crews are set to work on streets in the neighborhoods of Cameron Forest, Falcon Ridge, Timber Lane and Randolph Hill.
Work includes patching, milling and topping, and Johns Creek says most work would be done during the daytime.
