The “Run the River” 5K and 10K races are coming to Roswell this weekend and road closures are coming with it.

Several stretches of Riverside Road will be closed Saturday morning between 7 and 9 a.m.

Here’s what drivers traveling through the area need to know:

  • Both lanes of Riverside Road — between Dogwood Road and St. Andrew's Catholic Church — will be closed from 7:15 to 8 a.m. Most of the runners will be spread out at this time.
  • The westbound lane of Riverside Road — from Eves Road to Dogwood Road — will remain open to traffic.
  • The westbound lane of Riverside Road — from Dogwood Road to Route 9 — will open at 8:05 a.m. to traffic.
  • Traffic will not be allowed to turn onto Riverside Road eastbound from Route 9 during the race. Anyone who does come through will be directed by police to make a U-turn at Riverside Park's driveway.

Both the 5K and 10K portions of the race will start at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church — 675 Riverside Road — and will run in the eastbound lane of Riverside Road. The turnaround for the 5K will be near Martin’s Landing’s River Club while the 10K will continue further east, turning onto Old Riverside Road, then turning right onto Riverside Road and making a U-turn east of Eves Road. The runners will then run back to St. Andrew's Catholic Church in the same lane as before.
