A northwest Atlanta road will be closed for about six weeks beginning Monday.
The closure will take place on Bolton Road between Northwest Drive and Parrott Avenue from June 25 to Aug. 3, a press release said. The work hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Crews will replace a 36-inch main from the Bolton Road Pump Station. Residents and businesses will still be able to access mail and package delivery, emergency services and trash pick-up.
Motorists are urged by city officials to avoid the area if possible, but traffic control measures and signs will be in place to guide them around the work zone.
The detours are as follows:
• Southbound: Turn left on Browntown Road; right on James Jackson Parkway to Northwest Drive; right on Northwest Drive; left back onto Bolton Road to continue south.
• Northbound: Turn right on Northwest Drive; left on James Jackson Parkway; left on Browntown Road; right back onto Bolton Road to continue north.
