Traffic alert: Lane of busy N. Fulton road closed through Friday

Drivers on Abernathy Road in the evening and early hours may notice some traffic congestion.

Sandy Springs says that the Georgia Department of Transportation will close alternating lanes of the road beginning Wednesday for underground utility investigations. The work should be completed after Friday.

The lane closures will include the portion of Abernathy Road between Barfield Road and Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Only one lane of the road will be closed at a time.

Road work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., today through Friday.
