A company with a familiar name is bringing 150 jobs to Alpharetta.
Toyota Financial Services plans to open its East Dealer Service Center, this fall. Employees there will work on insurance and financial matters, including handling credit applications received from 1,400 auto dealers across the country. The new 56,000-square-foot office will open on Rainwater Drive, becoming one of three service centers that support dealerships. The other locations are in Plano, Texas and Chandler, Arizona.
“These three large centers are based on a restructuring of roughly 30 offices,” said Vincent Bray, national manager with TFS. “We had a small office [in Alpharetta] before and the Atlanta area is just appealing.”
Some workers are already in the North Fulton city working out of a temporary office.
TFS has started hiring for credit analyst and supervisory positions. There will also be employees that transfer to Alpharetta from within the company, said Bray. According to Glassdoor, credit analysts at the company can earn more than $64,000 per year.
The move to Georgia represents an investment of more than $8 million. The Georgia Department of Economic Development said they were working with TFS, but was unable to comment on whether the company received a tax break or other incentives to come to the state.
“With a reputation for being one of Georgia’s best places to live, and a city experiencing its own economic and cultural growth, Alpharetta is ideal for Toyota’s evolution as we continue meeting the needs of our dealers and customers,” said Alec Hagey, a vice president with the company.
Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin has highlighted his support for corporations, such as TFS, that help double the city’s population during the work day.
“Their investment here is a wonderful example of Alpharetta’s attractiveness for tech-based enterprises, and a growing insurance and reinsurance industry sector,” said Gilvin. “We look forward to them coming, not only as an employer, but also as a great addition to our community.”
