A 123-unit townhome community was approved recently by the Marietta City Council.

Based in Marietta, Traton Homes will build the community on 9.58 acres at 315 Frey’s Gin Road and 1222, 1230, 1238 and 1246 Banberry Road.

The community will replace an auto salvage business that has occupied the site “for many years,” according to applicant attorney Kevin Moore.

Moore said the community is designed to “attract a lot of young buyers” and the main entrance will be on Banberry Road.

Priced at $200,000 to the low $300,000s, the three-story units will include rear-loading, two-car garages and the community will include a pool.

An unusual design feature will be the inclusion of linear parks between the homes.
