DeKalb police are on the lookout for the thieves who drove a pickup truck through the Mall at Stonecrest.

The break-in was reported just after 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the thieves rammed the truck through the food court, ripped out an ATM and took off.

According to the police report obtained by Channel 2's Audrey Washington, the thieves slammed the pickup truck, described as a newer model gold GMC or Chevy pickup, through the glass andsnatched the ATM.

No one was inside the mall at the time and no one was hurt.

A security guard on duty tried to stop them, but it was too late.

Shoppers are on high alert.

"It's getting hot, so you will see a lot more stuff like this. People are crazy. I thought that only happened in movies," Daniel Coakley said.

"People work hard for their money, then someone goes and takes the machine. (It's) terrible," Carolyn Brown said

Police told Washington that theyare examining security video plus one piece of evidence that the thieves left behind.
