Sculptures and artwork from four metro Atlanta libraries are now in the running for national grants and recognition.

This year's Art of Giving contest highlights 101 public library art projects in 23 states. In Georgia, projects from libraries in Milton, Roswell, Atlanta and Alpharetta are being nominated.

The artist with the most contest votes earns $10,000 from the American for the Arts organization. Second and third place winners earn $5,000 and $1,000 prizes.

Right now, the contest leaderboard lists the Northwest Atlanta Globe sculpture on display in Atlanta's Scotts Crossing Library and the New Growth Forest sculpture at the East Roswell Library as first and second, respectively.

The Americans for the Arts organization has partnered with KRIS Wine for this national contest. The campaign's goal is to encourage the support of arts on a community level.

The contest ends Oct. 31 with winners announced in November. Click here to cast your vote.
