There’s only one day when being in the back of a cop car is a good thing.

Truck-A-Palooza on Sept. 8 will be a day of children exploring fire engines, SWAT trucks, dump trucks, a police helicopter and heavy construction vehicles.

It costs $5 per person, with a maximum of $20 per family. The proceeds all go to Cobb County Safety Village, the county's instructional facility that teaches everything from crime prevention to fire evacuation.

The event  will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the lower parking lot by Sears at the Town Center Mall.
