Q: What are the sources of the Scriptures quoted by President Barack Obama during his remarks at the World Trade Center commemorative ceremony?

-- Patricia M. Morris, Decatur

A: Psalm 46 was the Bible passage that the president read from during Sunday's ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. At a memorial service for the Arizona shootings in January, he also quoted from Psalm 46. Principal deputy press secretary Josh Earnest provided this explanation for the selection of Psalm 46: "The president chose a Scripture which he believed was most appropriate ... And he chose a passage that talks of persevering through very difficult challenges and emerging from those challenges stronger." At another Sunday event, A Concert for Hope at the Kennedy Center, the president quoted from Psalm 30: "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."

Q: What does Braves player Jose Constanza draw in the dirt before he bats? Is it to confirm where he stands, or some symbol?

-- Martha Hunt, Hoschton

A: The rookie outfielder told the AJC he draws a line in the dirt to help him know where he stands in relation to the plate.
