Marietta officials will soon hear the case to rezone a rudderless shopping plaza to allow for a total makeover, starting with a movie theater that would serve food and alcohol.

A developer wants to put a Studio Movie Grill in the old Sports Authority at the Harry’s Crossing Shopping Center, which is between Powers Ferry Road and I-75.

The 20-acre property’s anchor and namesake, Harry’s Farmers Market, will relocate.

The theater would be located right by the city's historic Big Chicken, currently undergoing a transformation itself.

The developer of the Austin-based movie theater company hopes this will be its newest location in the area, with spots already  in Alpharetta and Duluth.

The company boasts the chance for customers to watch the newest flicks while dining on delicious food.

And we’re not talking popcorn.

Think of enjoying a beer, wine or cocktail with a starter of seared ahi tuna with edamame or ceviche lettuce wraps before moving on to St. Louis ribs or mahi-mahi fish and chips as you enjoy the latest “Transformers” film.

They also have an appropriately-themed "Star Wars" brunch that offers a "Solo Saber" — "sausage link dipped in pancake batter" — even though the only time Han Solo uses a lightsaber in the films is to cut open Luke's tauntaun so they don't freeze to death on Hoth.

The developer will present to Marietta’s planning commission Feb. 1, and the city council will get the same presentation Feb. 8.
