One of two girls who was found near the Chattahoochee River in Carroll County has died, authorities said Friday night. The girl was 14.

Her sister, age 6, is in intensive care at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, said Capt. Jeff Richards of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department in an emailed statement.

The girls were rescued from McIntosh River Park after their swim noodle got away from them, Tim Padgett, spokesman for Carroll Emergency Management Agency, said in an emailed statement.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Department told Channel 2 Action News that CPR was performed on the girls, who were transported by ambulance to Tanner Medical Center.
