Item: Lilburn (Gwinnett)

A reader wants a situation in Lilburn fixed before more cars are damaged.

“There is a dangerous pothole on Arcado Road on the northbound lane between Killian Hill Road and Hokes Place in Lilburn. This road hazard is especially dangerous because it is on the downslope of a small hill, and drivers cannot see it from a distance. If a wheel catches the pothole, the steering wheel will be forced to veer to the right, due to the road incline. This will create a hazardous situation with the potential of a roll-over risk to unprepared drivers,” wrote Scott Danos.

We sent the issue to the city’s public works manager and will let you know when the pothole is fixed.

Holly Grimes is tired of dodging potholes in Atlanta and DeKalb County.

“I have lived here for over 45 years. I have never seen the roads in such bad condition. I can’t limit it to one major street as so many are terrible enough to cause flat tires,” Grimes said.

Some of her problem areas include DeKalb Avenue both in DeKalb and Fulton counties, which is a major thoroughfare.

“I can’t remember the last time it was repaved. Sections of Ponce de Leon from Decatur to Atlanta, are bad in the right lane. As a passenger, it sometimes feels like a rutted dirt road,” she wrote.

We sent the information to the proper authorities and will let you know when the situation is improved.
