Charles Bohanan wants something done about potholes.

“The potholes of Frazier Road, between Lawrenceville Highway and Pangborn Road in DeKalb County, have made another triumphant return, despite having been ‘repaired’ only a few months ago. These have made so many comeback tours that I have nicknamed them Cher,” he wrote.

We sent the item to DeKalb County and will keep you updated.

Update: Clarkston (DeKalb)

Last week, we told you about Tim Brotherton’s issue about a street lined with potholes.

“Several of the huge potholes (on DeBelle Street) are eight-nine inches deep. They are dangerous for cars and lethal for bikes. They have been getting worse for years, and now people have to detour through an adjacent apartment complex. I reported it to the city last year, and they dumped a load of gravel on it, which helped for about a week, then made it worse,” Brotherton wrote.

We heard back quickly from Clarkston officials.

“The city of Clarkston began last month the DeBelle Street Stormwater repair project with the surveying of the adjacent properties and the right-of-way. The city included in its 2020 Stormwater Fund budget up to $150,000 for repairs and the construction of stormwater infrastructure on DeBelle Street from North Indian Creek to Jolly Avenue that will alleviate significant storm/rainwater runoff that continues to deteriorate the street and has been similarly causing periodic flooding onto the adjacent Atlanta Area School for the Deaf,” wrote the city’s Robin Gomez.

“The city is finalizing agreements with the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and the ownership of the adjacent Indian Creek Apartment Homes to secure all three entities’ permission and funding for the project that will include some work on the adjacent properties. We are planning for construction work to begin in mid-April and be completed by mid-July,” she said.
