Take to task for Dec. 4

New item-Ga. 400

Debra Canaras wants something done about a bad pothole.

“We often travel to the North Springs MARTA station from Milton. As you exit 400 southbound, there is a terrible pothole right at the foot of the exit. It is difficult to transition safely from the speed of travel on 400 to the exit while navigating the pothole. It is big enough to impact control of the vehicle,” she wrote.

We sent her concern to the DOT and will let you know the outcome.

New item-Interstate 75

Patsy Brown wants to see driving conditions improved on Interstate 75.

“The lane shift on 75 southbound just past Windy Hill around the 285 exit needs better stripes- darker so you can determine where your lane is. I was in the second lane from the left yesterday and since you can still see the old striping, I inadvertently followed the wrong stripes and ended up in the left lane. If a car had been next to me there would have been a bad wreck,” Brown said. She said there was a wreck in the morning in that same spot and wonders if the same thing happened to them.

We sent her concern to the DOT and will let you know the outcome.

New item-DeKalb County

Loyal reader Lee Ann Saxton hopes something can be done about a clogged drain.

“I read your column every week and salute your services in wanting to help ‘get things fixed’ around metro Atlanta. There is a street, and in particular, a home at 1275 Diamond Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30316 whose yard is being flooded during heavy rain storms – all because of a storm sewer that is 100 percent clogged and in disrepair. The storm sewer is located on Glynn Drive, near the intersection of Diamond Avenue,” she wrote.

She said a friend has reached out on two different occasions to Dekalb County. Each time they said someone would come out – but obviously based on the pictures, you can see nothing has been fixed.

We sent the item to DeKalb County and will keep you updated.
