John Falco wants to see a pothole fixed.

“Several months ago, this pothole developed on the edge of this speed hump on Durand Drive in Atlanta near Druid Hills High School, just outside of the Durand Mill subdivision. It’s almost two feet wide and more than a foot deep, and seems likely to keep getting bigger. At night, it’s nearly impossible to see, and for anyone unfamiliar with the presence of this pothole, they run the risk of damaging their right front tire and wheel,” he wrote.

We got a quick response back from the county.

“We will inspect and repair within the next seven to 10 days,” said press secretary Burke Brennan.

Update-Chamblee

Last week, we told you about Susan McDaniel’s request to get a small area of a major road fixed.

“The small strip of Chamblee Dunwoody Road between Buford Highway and Shallowford Road is in terrible condition and has been so for years. It causes traffic jams and dangerous driving practices, as some motorists choose to use the left turn lane in the opposite direction to avoid the bumps and pot holes. Someone took pity on us drivers and used some leftover bituminous to fill in some of the worst potholes,” she wrote. We got a response back from Chamblee.

“Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will ask staff to investigate what can be done in the short-term while we work on a permanent fix,” said Chamblee public works director Reginald Anderson.

New item-DeKalb County

Steve Zweighaf is concerned over turn signals.

“In DeKalb County, the left turn signals at the intersection of Pleasantdale Road and the southbound Interstate 85 access road are a continuing sore point in our daily commutes. The left turn signals often do not activate and remain red through two, three and sometimes four cycles. This causes traffic to back up on the bridge over I-85 and extend across the northbound access road intersection creating further delays for northbound commuters,” he wrote.

We sent the item to DeKalb County and press secretary Burke Brennan said he would check on the issue and see if it is in the jurisdiction of the county or the DOT.
