New item-DeKalb County
A resident hopes something can be done about a series of potholes that has been an issue for months in a DeKalb County neighborhood.
“DeKalb County has been notified for months of these growing potholes on Arbor Vista Drive. There has been no response whatsoever. It is a shame that one would have to resort to a newspaper column to obtain help that is self evident,” wrote Moshe Manheim. We sent his issue to the county and will keep you updated.

New item-Interstate 20
For a region like Atlanta, the interstate highway system represents a way of moving literally millions of people each day. When the system is littered with potholes and other issues, it can literally bring the area to a crawl.
Anita John is fed up with condition of one of the region’s major interstates.
“Interstate 20 east and west is in very bad shape from the Douglas County line to the Atlanta city area, with large potholes and road damage due to weather and volume of traffic. It is been like that since August, 2014 when I started going to Carrollton to my daughter’s college. Please do something,” she wrote.
We sent her concerns to the DOT and will keep you updated on the issue.

New item-Interstate 85
On the northern side of town, John Pooler also has a problem with an interstate highway. He wrote us about a mysterious substance that is on an interstate exit.
“On exit 96 from I-85 north to Northcrest Road there is a large bar of material across the roadway right where the road surface changes from concrete to asphalt, causing a huge jolt for every vehicle driving over it. This is very painful for everyone with back problems. The bar needs to be leveled off so that the junction is smooth,” he wrote.
We sent the item to DOT and will let you know when it’s fixed.
