The Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday, July 28, to apply for an Atlanta Regional Commission Art Grant for a new public art piece. If approved by the ARC, Suwanee would receive $15,000 in matching funds to develop the public artwork.

The city plans to use the word “Lives” painted on a piece of steel from the demolished Gwinnett County water tower now in the city’s possession. The tower formerly stood along Interstate 85 with the words “Success Lives Here.”
