Suwanee was once again named a 2017 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. The Tree City USA program has been greening up cities and towns across America since 1976. It is a nationwide movement that provides the framework necessary for communities to manage and expand their public trees.

More than 3,400 communities with a combined population of 140 million people made the commitment to become a Tree City USA.
The Suwanee City Council presented the 2018 Arbor Day proclamation at the March council meeting. The city will celebrate Arbor Day with its annual tree planting on April 29 at The Orchard at White Street Park. Email whitestreetorchard@gmail.com if interested in volunteering.
