The Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday evening to replace current streetlights around Town Center with LED bulbs. The move will improve brightness and reduce costs. The council awarded the $11,326 contract to All Power Electric Inc. out of Grayson.
Work will begin in the next couple of months to retrofit the lighting. The city expects the project to pay for itself within 18 months to two years by reducing energy costs.
