Following a pubic hearing, the Suwanee City Council voted recently to allow a rezoning request for a mixed-use development on 18 acres at 450 Buford Highway. The land was previously zoned for light industry and single-family homes. Lynwood Development plans between 70-75 townhomes along an extension of Suwanee Avenue and two apartment buildings along Buford Highway, which would be an expansion of the planned mix-use project on the adjacent land at the corner of Buford Highway and Chicago Street.

The townhomes would be a minimum 1,800 square feet and built with materials compatible with the existing Town Center developments. Approval came with a number of conditions including maximum building heights, a comprehensive pedestrian plan, architectural and landscape guidelines. The development meets the city’s 2015 Downtown Suwanee Master Plan and the intended land use outlines in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan.
