The Cox Commuunications headquarters building in DeKalb County was evacuated for about two hours Monday due to a suspicious package.

An employee discovered the package around 9 a.m. in the loading dock area of the building in the 1400 block of Lake Hearn Drive, and DeKalb police and Homeland Security officials felt that the package was enough of a concern to evacuate the building.

The all-clear was sounded about 11 a.m. after the package was examined and determined to contain electronic equipment.

Cox Communications, the country’s third-largest cable and broadband company, is owned by Cox Enterprises, which also owns the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
