Suspected home invader shot dead

Authorities say the occupant of a home in Savannah shot and killed a suspected home invader.

Savannah-Chatham police spokeswoman Gena Sullivan tells The Savannah Morning News that officers were called to the home on Cloverdale Drive late Saturday night.

Sullivan said arriving officers were told that a dead man was inside the residence. Police were told the man broke into the home, was confronted by one of the occupants and was shot during the confrontation.
