DeKalb police believe 27-year-old Jaren Sullivan gunned down his ex’s new boyfriend and ordered witnesses to get the body from in front of his house “or he would begin shooting again.”
Warrants released this week say Sullivan's mother called 911 on Oct. 11 to summon police to Kimble Lane outside Decatur. She said her son had just shot someone.
An argument between the men led to the shooting, during which witnesses said they saw the shooter standing over the victim, firing.
The victim was Marques Dockery. According to an online memorial fundraising page, the 32 year old had an 11-month-old daughter with Sullivan’s ex-girlfriend.
After shooting Dockery, a crime which two children also witnessed, Sullivan allegedly turned the gun on his ex-girlfriend and pulled the trigger.
“The accused was out of ammunition and returned inside his residence, reloaded and came back outside,” a warrant says.
He then is accused of attempting to kill his ex’s brother, who was trying to help Dockery and was shot several times.

The victims, along with the two children, tried to flee in a car. One of the kids was reportedly the child of Sullivan and his ex.
Charged with murder and aggravated assault, Sullivan remained in the county jail without bond Wednesday.
