Cobb County police have charged a Marietta man in connection with a series of wallet thefts at Cobb grocery stores.

Ricky Waller, 31, was charged with theft by taking and credit card transaction fraud, said Cobb police spokesman Mike Bowman.

The arrest stems from a string of incidents at grocery stores in unincorporated Cobb County in which someone stole wallets from victims' purses, Bowman said. Stolen credit cards were then used at nearby stores to purchase high-end electronics, he said.

Waller was being held Thursday at the Cobb County jail.
