Sugar Hill has launched the inaugural Broad Street Film Fest to be hosted Feb. 21-23 at the Eagle Theatre, 5029 W Broad St. The deadline for film submissions has been extended through Jan. 21.

The Broad Street Film Fest hopes to be a gathering of storytellers and audiences seeking new stories, experiences and perspectives. The program will include different genres of short films: comedies, documentaries as well as a college and high school submissions. The event will include conversations with filmmakers, panel discussions, Q&As, keynote speakers and live music events.

The goal of the event is to raise money to have a high school and college scholarship available to students participating in the Broad St. Film Fest.
