A 47-lot residential subdivision is planned off South Bethany Road in Locust Grove.

The Locust Grove City Council voted at its Aug. 5 regular meeting to approve a preliminary plat for a proposed residential subdivision on South Bethany Road.

The 25.5-acre site is north of the intersection with Mose Brown Road and also north of the Locust Grove Conference Center and Warren Holder Park. The property received R-2 zoning from the council in April, and at that time the proposed development was going to include 50 lots with an entrance near the northern end of the property.

Further study led the developers to reduce the number of lots to 47 and move the subdivision entrance farther south.
