Milton city officials are advising residents that clearing the debris scattered along public rights-of-way from the Dec. 8-9 snowstorm may take until February to finish.
“As most may be aware, the city of Milton has limited in-house public works staff and contracts with third-party vendors to provide services such as landscaping and roadway work,” city officials said.
Debris removal from the snowstorm “may require up to 60 days to complete, as city staff will need to complete the necessary procurement steps before work can begin.”
In the meantime, staff is getting roadway debris temporarily pushed back from the white line for safety reasons, officials said. City clean-up efforts are focused on public rights-of-way, not private property.
