The city of Stockbridge says it will reopen parks on Saturday, though it plans to prohibit the use of park equipment and pavilions.

The Henry County community, like many around metro Atlanta, had closed its greenspaces earlier this year to try to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The restrictions are being lifted as the city begins opening up more of its government facilities, including a plan to allow residents into municipal offices on Monday.

"Our city parks will reopen on this Saturday morning,” the city said in a statement late Thursday. “Although we are moving forward with allowing public access to our parks, we highly encourage all community members to continue to practice social distancing as they visit our popular locations."
