Stockbridge council allots $350K for downtown project

A number of parking and other issues downtown are being addressed in Stockbridge.
The Stockbridge City Council voted at its June 26 workshop meeting to authorize up to $350,000 for completion of an alleyway improvement project related to ongoing talks about parking problems in the downtown area.
The focus of the discussion was the area around MLK Sr. Heritage Trail along with areas next to the Ted Strickland Community Center and along Burke Street. City officials reported to the council that demolition of the old police precinct building should take place in July, weather permitting.
The next update on parking and signage issues will be given to the council at one of its July meetings.
