The Stockbridge City Council voted to annex a 14-acre piece of property from unincorporated Henry County into the city at its Nov. 11 regular meeting. The vote was unanimous.

The site in question is on the south side of Hwy. 138 on the western end of the city, just past Spivey Road and next to the Clayton County line. It is zoned RA (residential-agricultural), and the property owner does not intend to rezone it, according to officials. Because of this, the county did not raise any objection to the proposed annexation. No one spoke in opposition to the annexation during the public hearing at the council meeting just before the vote.
