LongHorn Steakhouse in Kennesaw isn’t moving a long distance, but it has changed locations.

Monday was the first day for the restaurant at 1095 Cobb Place Boulevard after 30 years at its previous location near Town Center at Cobb, according to a spokeswoman. It’s about 1½ miles away.

The chain started in Atlanta in 1981 and now has 500 locations, the spokeswoman said.

The old location closed Sept. 16. All the employees were moving to the Cobb Place Boulevard location, a spokeswoman said.

The new eatery, which is in a standalone building, had announced a “lasso cutting” to open the restaurant Monday with city officials.

At 5,850 square feet, the new spot will be able to seat more than 200 guests — which is more than before.

The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. every day.
