Georgia Department of Transportation maintenance crews will work this week to create a smoother transition for traffic merging from State Route 316 onto Interstate 85 southbound.

Recently the concrete connecting the roadway to the bridge has settled. Initial repairs have been completed but final work to ensure a smoother ride will take place 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 2. This work will require the bridge to be closed to traffic.

Drivers will use the High Occupancy Vehicle lane as they merge onto I-85 south from 316. Drivers need to be alert while traveling the HOV lane detour and depart from the lane if they are not carpooling once on Interstate 85.
