Starting this Friday, area residents can gather at parks in Brookhaven for a series of free summer movie nights.

On Friday, June 7, the first “Movies in the Moonlight” will take place at Skyland Park with a showing of “How to Train Your Dragon: A Hidden World,” according to a statement from the city of Brookhaven. The movie will start at 7:30 p.m.

Next Saturday, June 15, the city will show “Aquaman” at Murphey Candler Park, starting at 9 p.m.

Later summer movie dates are set for July 19 at Brookhaven Park and Aug. 2 at Blackburn Park. Details for those showings have not yet been released.

While the movies are free of charge, concessions will be available for purchase.

“The Hidden World,” released earlier this year, is third in the “How to Train Your Dragon” trilogy. “Aquaman” was released last year and stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard in the superhero film.
